Beans can be planted in the same field for a maximum of 2 years. After 2 years, it is left fallow for 1 year or another crop is planted. Planting of beans starts in May and is hoeed in June. After the hoe is made, bean poles are planted. It needs to be watered regularly, once a week. In order to get good yield, it is necessary to water more frequently and not skip the water, especially during flowering time. Depending on seasonal conditions, harvest time is around the end of September and the beginning of October. Since mechanized agriculture is not common, harvesting is done by the windlass method. After the beans are removed from the field, they are sorted by hand one by one. Then it is left to dry. After drying, the beans are separated from their grains. After separation, it is sieved with the help of a sieve. As a final process, foreign substances and small grained beans are removed.
The nutritional values of Ispir Beans are very high. 100 grams of Ispir Beans contain, on average, 24 grams of protein, 330 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and 20.2 carbohydrates. It also contains phosphorus, calcium, iron, potassium and vitamins B1, B2, B3 and E.
